The Debt Management Officer works as part of the KCDC rates team. Key responsibilities include the collection of outstanding property and water rates and may include working with other business units to assist with the collection of other outstanding debt across the Council.
The role involves:
Negotiating payment arrangement agreements with Ratepayers
Managing the relationship with the Council’s debt collection agency
Assisting with the rates ledger and producing financial reports
Responding to customer queries
Key skills and experience:
Previous debt management/collection experience is preferred
Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
Effective communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office/365, particularly Excel and Word
Experience in working closely with financial computer systems and software (previous experience with MagiQ is an advantage)
