Legal Secretary/Receptionist

Be the welcoming face and organisational backbone of a busy legal practice.

We are seeking a professional and friendly Legal Secretary / Receptionist to join a local legal firm. This is a varied role combining front-of-house reception with essential legal and administrative support. You’ll play a key part in creating a positive client experience while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and visitors, providing a warm and professional first impression

  • Answer calls, direct enquiries, and manage messages efficiently

  • Maintain electronic calendars, book appointments, and organise meeting rooms

  • Open and manage client files (digital and physical)

  • Communicate with clients regarding Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements

  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence using firm templates

  • Complete dictaphone typing, prioritising urgent work

  • Conduct title searches when required

  • Provide administrative support to legal staff and the Practice Manager

  • Order stationery, manage supplies, and coordinate couriers/mail

  • Assist with deed records, data entry, and general office administration

  • Support daily office tasks, including maintaining shared spaces and equipment

About You

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Confident communicator with excellent client service skills

  • Able to multitask and prioritise effectively

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with experience in digital dictation and general office systems

  • A reliable team player with a proactive attitude
